Le Canard en Caoutchouc and other things...

Hello Dear Folks,
I just found some other photos of Matagorda on my camera that somehow didn't make it onto my computer, so here are a few more.  I do love black and white.

It has been a busy but good weekend with many things being crossed out on my to-do list.  Yesterday I had a burst of energy from somewhere, probably my coffee cup, and got a ton of schoolwork done in advance.  I now have all essays written that will be due this week (3) with the exception of two very small 2-3 sentence things for sociology, and completed all of the assignments and readings for Monday and Tuesday.  That means that tomorrow I can do all of Wednesday's work and so forth.  I do love knowing that I don't have to stay up late or get up early before class to cram something in.  I didn't quite get around to the laundry, but my room is enjoying a bit of organized cleanliness for the first time in a while.
I have been digging through my boxes of photos up here looking for pictures of mon canard en caoutchouc (rubber-ducky) Rodi, because he is going to be my presentation topic in conversation class.  I figure it is just odd enough to be interesting but relatable enough to spark a conversation, we shall see.
Also, Mom, I know from my phone history that I talked to you the other morning, and I vaguely remember my phone going off.  But, I have absolutely no idea why you called or what we talked about, so I hope my pretty much asleep self was coherent and not too weird; as if that would be a change from the norm :)
Well, I must get to bed.
I love yall much.
DDL

Unbelievably miraculous photos here, Hubert. I really can't think of a time when I saw better from you or when I was pulled so effectively from within by something that chose to react with the images. The fact that your photographs are enjoyed by so few people is yet another testament to the fact that this universe is intrinsically unjust. Beautiful but unjust. I'm sending a link to Harlin so he can see them. He knows just how to look at such amazing images. Also, I'm going to try to paint the "jetties in linear perspective" and the "water bubbles." Maybe large two by three foot watercolors of these somewhat abstract images will turn out. Thank you, again, for the inspiration you always provide me. DDL

There's nothing like being filled with motivation and acting upon it! I'm so glad you were able to get ahead a bit. Rodi will be the perfect little guy for conversation. ~ Kate your photos of Matagorda are amazing. The one under the pier is completely remarkable. It would be great to show children to help them see perspective clearly. The bubbles are amazing. They almost give the impression that inside every bubble is another bubble. Thank you for keeping up so well with the blog. Big hug! ` Mo

Kate. This is your sister!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Your photographs are beyond stunning. However, what is even more incredible is how much I miss you. I am sitting here at my kitchen table staring at an ACLS book for a refresher class tomorrow, distracted by a house full of beautiful yellow tulips (thank you to Natalie and Lee), listening to the classical guitar Pandora station, and smiling at the fridge where rests the Valentine's card you sent me.
Thank you, love. ToOdDlEs.
